Pakistan has urged United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres to askIndia to drop “fabricated charges” against the leader of Kashmiriorganization “Dukhtaran-e-Millat” Asiya Andrabi and to provide her completelegal protections.
In a letter to the UN Chief, Ambassador Munir Akram said India’s systemiccrackdown of the legitimate and indigenous freedom movement in Kashmircannot be given a free pass.
The Pakistani envoy wrote that with Indian judiciary showing littleproclivity to stand up for the rights of Kashmiris, there is an imminentand real threat to the life of Ms. Andrabi, and her associates, who arestaring at a real possibility of a judicial murder.
