Federal government gives yet another big incentive for the electric vehicles ownership

The federal government approved the exemption of registration and ownershiprenewal fees for electric vehicles (EV). The media has called the step amajor leap forward in the direction of normalizing EVs.

Following this development, the registration of EVs in the federal capitalwill be done free of cost. The government has issued instructions to theInterior Ministry pertaining to the said development.——————————

According to the Cabinet Division, the initiative is aimed at promotingeco-friendly EVs in the country. The provincial governments may alsoprovide incentives to promote electric cars across the country.

According to the report, the construction of electric car charging stationson all motorways and highways will begin soon. People will be able to useelectric vehicles for long and short distances commutes, which will reducetheir fuel expenses and reduce the strain on the environment.——————————

In a relevant development that occurred about a week ago, Pakistan Railwaysdecided to offer several of its areas across the country for the privatesector companies to set up EV charging points.

Reportedly, Pakistan Railways has prepared a plan to offer vacant plotsbeside each railway station to the private sector for the construction ofEV charging stations. Each station will be able to accommodate three to tenvehicles.
