The United Nations has called on all sides in Bangladesh to exercise restraint amid violent incidents resulting from disputed elections.
The UN spokesman in a statement, strongly condemned the violent incidents and reports of irregularities in the general election that saw violence, mass arrest of opposition activists and the deaths of at least 17 party workers and policemen on polling day.
The spokesperson urged all sides to ensure a peaceful post electoral environment, where people can maintain their right to assembly and expression.
