ISLAMABAD – Former premier Nawaz Sharif filed an appeal in the IslamabadHigh Court (IHC) against his sentence in the Al-Azizia Steel Millsreference on Tuesday.
The appeal filed through his counsel requested the court to nullify theverdict of the accountability court.
On December 24, Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik sentenced formerpremier Nawaz Sharif to seven years in prison in the Al-Azizia referencecase, while acquitted him in the Flagship reference.
While reading out the short order, the judge said that there was no caseagainst Nawaz in the Flagship reference. He was indicted under Section9(a)(v) and Section 10 of the National Accountability Ordinance in theAl-Azizia reference.
