In Occupied Kashmir, thousands of people participated in the funerals ofmartyred youth, Fardeen Ahmad Khandey and Manzoor Ahmad Baba in Tral andDrubgam areas of Pulwama district, on Monday.
Khandey and Manzoor were martyred during an attack on the training centreof Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force in Lethpora area ofPulwama district. Five CRPF personnel were killed and several othersinjured in the attack.
The mourners were raising pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans. Hurriyatleaders and activists including a JKLF delegation participated in thefunerals of the martyrs.
Meanwhile, the killing of three mujahideen triggered complete shutdownmarked by forceful anti-India protests in Pulwama district. All shops andother business establishments were closed while traffic was off the roads.
Many people were injured when the troops fired bullets and pellets onprotesters in Drubgam area of the district.
Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani and otherHurriyat leaders and organizations have paid tributes to the martyred youth.
In its report, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference said that killing andother human rights violations including harassment of civilians andHurriyat leadership, restrictions on political activities and curbs onreligious obligations continued unabated in occupied Kashmir during theyear 2017.
The report said that political leaders and activists were subjected tovengeance and India’s National Investigation Agency was put into service toharass and arrest Hurriyat leaders.
On the other hand, according to the data issued today by the ResearchSection of Kashmir Media Service, Indian troops in their unabated acts ofstate terrorism martyred 291 innocent Kashmiris including six women and 18young boys during 2017.
The troops martyred 14 Kashmiris including two women and destroyed 125residential houses last month.
