Chinese pharma companies urged to establish plants in Pakistan

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday urged Chinese pharmacompanies to establish plants of producing raw material in Pakistan thatwill help in manufacturing pharmaceutical products at competitive prices.

This was stated by the president ICCI Sheikh Amir Waheed in Islamabad onMonday while talking to a delegation of Shannxi Province of China.

He said that Pakistani pharmaceutical companies are importing raw materialfrom China and India for manufacturing pharmaceutical products.

Amir informed the Chinese delegation that many industrial zones will be setup in Pakistan under China Pakistan Economic Corridor and Chinese investorsshould put up manufacturing plants through joint ventures in areas of theirinterest in these SEZs.

He said Chinese investment in Pakistan will enable them to enhance exportsto South and Central Asia, Middle East, Africa and many other markets.

The delegation was representing various companies of Shaanxi provinceincluding Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Holdings Group Co., Ltd, Shaanxi Coal andChemical Industry Group Co Ltd, Shaanxi Automobile Group Co.l Ltd andothers.

The delegation members said that this was their first visit to Pakistan andstressed for frequent interaction between the private sectors of both thecountries to understand each other and establish business collaborations.
