Afghanistan responds to the claims of Iran IRGC operation on Afghan soil

KABUL – Afghanistan has rejected Iranian IRGC claims of operation on Afghansoil claiming that no such operation has happened. The officials of theIslamic Revolutionary Guards Corps of Iran have claimed that the securitypersonnel have the Quds Base have rescued a kidnapped Iranian engineer whowas kept in Afghanistan.

The commander of the Quds Base Gen Mohammad Marani has said an Iranianengineer, Hussain Haj Malek, was abducted by unknown gunmen on 14thDecember from the Balochistan province of the country.

He said the kidnappers had taken the engineer to an unknown location inAfghanistan and were demanding a ransom in exchange for his release.

Gen. Marani further added that an operation was launched after discoveringthe vehicle of the engineer near Nimroz town.

According to Gen. Marani, Quds forces began their special operation torelease Haj Maleki on December 24 after making required arrangements withthe related legal organizations.

“During the operation which ended up in the release of Haj Maleki, the Qudsforces also arrested at least five people who had played a role in theabduction,” he was quoted as saying by the IFP News.
