MINGORA (APP): General Officer Commanding (GOC) Malakand, Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor has said that education is a key to bring socio-economic change and initiate progress and prosperity in our society.
He was addressing students at Govt. Girls High School Sirsinai tehsil Kabal here on Friday.
Underlining the importance of education, he said that it plays pivotal role to built any nation productive, active, enlighten and target oriented.
He regretted that owing to ignorance we are confronted with innumerable problems. "We should have to make all out efforts for promotion of education to transform society and save it from the ills of terrorism," he maintained.
He said that it is also need of the hour that we should inject our maximum resources for the promotion of education sector and produce useful human capable in our country.
"Youth is our future as they are nation builder; you should have to focus on studies and always remain shining star for those who refrain themselves from going to school," he said.
Later, GOC inaugurated computer lab which was setup by Pakistan Army at Govt. Girls High School Sirsinai and Govt. High School for Boys Aligrama.
It is pertinent to mention that Pak Army in collaboration with UAE reconstructed the schools blown by the militants.
Brig. Mushtaq, Minister for Housing Dr. Amjad, MPA Mohibullah Khan, Deputy Commissioner Atifur Rehman, DPO Saleem Marwat and other military officials were also present on the occasion.
