World XI coach reveals why Indian players are excluded from team

LAHORE: World XI coach Andy Flower has said that the decision to exclude Indian cricketers from the squad was made due to political tensions between the arch-rivals and fresh rift. 

According to CricTracker, he said, “Given the level of political involvement that would be necessary to get Indian players over here and play, we thought it was simplest to select from the other major test nations.”

In order to avoid political distress, Flower made the call to include players from the other seven Test playing teams. With cricket lovers in Pakistan thrilled over the return of the sport in the country, international audience have also expressed their excitement using social networking sites. 

Several Indian experts have showed their happiness at the return of international cricket in Pakistan and called it a big day for cricket lovers. 

In a tweet today, Harsha Bhogle‏ said, “Big day for cricket lovers in Pakistan. Hope the situation allows more teams to play there. Home cricket always has a different buzz.”

World XI and Pakistan will play three T20 games on September 12, 13 and 15.
