US punishes over dozen officers for Kunduz Hospital Attack in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON: US punished dozens of military personnel for attack on Kunduz Hospital in Afghanistan.

Officials claimed that administrative and non-judicial actions were taken against the military personnel instead of seeking criminal charges.

US military officials launched an airstrike over a hospital in Afghanistan which killed at least 42 people in November.

Administrative punishment includes letters of reprimand, which can significantly hurt the ability of a member of the military  personnel to get promoted.

US called it was a miss-incident due to technical error in aircraft’s mapping system.

Pentagon claimed that investigation is in process and a full inquiry report will be released in the coming days.
