UNSC considers draft resolution to refrain from establishment of diplomatic missions in Jerusalem

The United Nations Security Council is considering a draft resolution that calls upon all states to refrain from establishing diplomatic missions in Jerusalem.

Vote on the one-page Egyptian-drafted text circulated to the 15-member council, is likely to take place early next week.

The draft U.N. resolution “affirms that any decisions and actions which purport to have altered, status or demographic composition of Jerusalem have no legal effect, are null and void and must be rescinded in compliance with relevant Security Council resolutions.
