Umar Akmal may be dropped from Champions Trophy squad

LAHORE – According to reports, Umar Akmal could be dropped from the 15-member squad for ICC Champions Trophy which starts from June 1. His brother Kamran Akmal was not picked by the selectors following a poor run in West Indies tour.
After a row between Umar Akmal and Junaid Khan in Pakistan Cup, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) investigation committee declared Junaid Khan innocent over Umar Akmal’s claim of abandoning the Punjab team.
Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq also expressed disappointment on violation of disciplinary codes by Umar Akmal.
Junaid Khan had earlier posted a video message in which he said that Umar Akmal was lying and nothing as such had happened during the cricket tournament.
Umar Akmal led the Punjab team in Pakistan Cup. His team stood last in terms of performance.
