TTP Top Commander killed in encounter with LEA 

PESHAWAR: (APP) A top commander of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Sunday was killed in a clash with law enforcement agencies in Battagram.

According to Police Control Battagram, the killed commander was identified as Hafiz Nisar, who was head of the Shangla chapter of TTP and wanted for a number of attacks on forces. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had head money of Rs 1 million for the TTP militant.

An accomplice of the militant commander, who was injured in the clash, was arrested. Weapons and explosive material were also recovered from Hafiz Nisar's vehicle, which was completely destroyed.

District Police Officer Shangla Raja Saboor Khan told newsmen that a heavy police contingent carried out an operation in Saath area of Battagram when the terrorists opened fire at them. An exchange of fire took place during which Hafiz Nisar was killed while his accomplice was arrested in injured condition.

The injured militant was shifted to an unknown location for investigation.
