Three top Federal Ministers with UAE Iqama land in trouble

A petition seeking the disqualification of three federal ministers on the grounds of UAE Aqama has landed in the Supreme Court.
The petition calling for disqualification of newly appointed foreign minister Khawaja Asif, interior minister Ahsan Iqbal and finance minister Ishaq Dar was filed in the apex court’s Lahore registry on Tuesday.
It was submitted in the petition that the three federal ministers deliberately concealed their Iqamas (working permits) of United Arab Emirates from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), and did not mention them in their nomination papers.
They, therefore, are not eligible to hold their offices, it added.
