Supreme Court gives go ahead to NAB over Panama JIT request

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has granted permission to the National Accountability Bureau to record statements of the Joint Investigation Team members who probed assets of the Sharif family.
Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan accepted the request of NAB Islamabad that wrote to the apex court last week. Justice Ijaz is the judge appointed by the Supreme Court to oversee the bureau’s proceedings against Nawaz Sharif and his family members.
Earlier, sources had said, JIT head Wajid Zia refused to give statements to NAB saying the investigative team was no more effective therefore he would not speak over the matter until court orders were received.
