Super Moon in Pakistan: Met Office issue clarification

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has denied reports of supermoon sighting in Pakistan in a statement issued on Saturday by clearing that it would be full moon instead.

The Met Office has stated that Pakistan is to witness a supermoon in 2034 and not anytime sooner.

Earlier in November last year, PMD announced sighting of a full moon in the country that was 14% bigger and 30% brighter than the normal full moon because of its closest distance from the earth.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) officials had said that supermoon was seen 70 years ago however, the force of attraction was the strongest resulting in high tides than usual.
