Six Bills introduced in Senate of Pakistan

The Senate resumed its session in Islamabad on Monday afternoon with Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani in the chair.

Six bills were introduced in the Senate on Monday.

These are "The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2017" (Amendment of Article 70),

"The Pakistan Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2017," "The Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) (Amendment) Bill, 2017" (Amendment of section 2), "The The Anti-Money Laundering (Amendment) Bill, 2017" (Amendment of section 4), "The Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2017" (Amendment of sections 154 and 156 and Insertion of new section 154A) and "The Right to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill, 2017".

These bills were moved Saleem Mandviwalla, Azam Khan Swati and Mian Ateeq Shaikh.

The chair referred these bills to the concerned standing committees.

The House today passed a resolution recommending that the Waseela-e-Haq and Waseela-e-Rozgar schemes launched under the Benazir Income Support Programme during the previous government which have been discontinued by the present government may be revived forthwith.

Responding to the resolution, Law Minister Zahid Hamid said the government has expanded the BISP and the above mentioned schemes have been replaced with Prime Minister's Interest Free Loan and Prime Minister Youth Skill Programme which are continuing successfully.
