Sindh IG Ghulam Haider Jamali replaced with IG AD Khawaja

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved to replace Sindh IG Ghulam Haider Jamali with IG AD Khawaja on the recommendations of the Sindh Government.
As per details, 3 names have been sent to PM Nawaz by Sindh Government for the appointment of new IG which includes AD Khawaja and Nisar Mehar. PM Nawaz decided to appoint AD Khawaja as new Sindh IG after consultation.
The notification has been issued for the appointment of AD Khawaja. He belonged to Tandu Muhammad Khan and he is serving as Additional IG Special Branch.
Khawaja has also served as SSP in at least 6 districts of Sindh so he has been appointed Sindh IG over his best record and experience.
Ghulam Haider has been removed from his post after the directive of Supreme Court while Sindh Interior Minister Sohail Anwar was also unhappy with Sindh IG.
It is also worthy to mention here that Ghulam Haider had been appointed as IG Sindh on June 2014. He was facing several corruption charges in Supreme Court and Sindh High Court.
