Show cause notice issued to Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (APP): Returning Officer, District Election Commissioner, Jhelum Khursheed Alam Thursday issued Show Cause Notice to chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on violation of Code of Conduct and directed him to appear before him on Saturday (August 27).
Returning Officer NA 63, Jhelum-II has directed Imran Khan to appear before him in person or through counsel that why shall not proceedings be initiated against Imran on violating ECP's directives and Code of Conduct.
In case of failure to appear before the RO, the matter would be forwarded to the ECP, the show cause said.
RO had directed Imran Khan on August 23, to avoid holding rallies and public gathering at Khewra, Pinawal and Jhelum city in connection with election campaign of NA 63 on August 24, 2016, but he defied the orders.
According to RO, Imran Khan had violated code of conduct and directives issued by the ECP in connection with election campaign of by-election being held in NA-63 Jhelum -II on August 31.
