Sheikh Rashid unveils combined opposition future plans

ISLAMABAD (APP): Chief of Awami Muslim League and Member National Assembly Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said the opposition parties movement will gain momentum within 25 days, and if any incident occurred then the army can intervene.

Expressing his views during a television programme, Sheikh Rashid said the decision to start a movement was taken by 25 parties including Awami Muslim League, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Muslim League(Q), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and other parties.

They will stage protests on August 6, August 20, August 27 and August 30.

“It is possible that we may go to the Supreme Court. We are making a start and rallies and sit ins will be held,” he said.

On August 6, Muttahida Qaumi Movement will hold a protest while other 25 parties will be part of it, he said adding Pakistan Peoples Party has to remove doubts about its role.

“When we will take to the streets the government will do mischief, which will cause an incident and a case will be registered against Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif,” Sheikh Rashid added.

He said when a movement begins, then it can happen that somebody will come out of Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi. “They will get together at D Chowk.”

He said their agenda can be different but on the issue of Panama Leaks and Qisas, they will be together.

“Before August 6, I will take other leaders to Imran Khan.”
