Sharmeen Ubaid Chennnai documentary film “A girl in the River” nominated for Oscar Award

ISLAMABAD: Renowned Director Sharmeen Ubaid Chennai’s another documentary film “A girl in the River” has been nominated for Oscar Award. Her documentary film is being nominated for 88th Oscar Academy Award.
As per details, the film has been categorized in the best short documentary film while the ceremony of Oscar Award will be held on February 28. This short film of Sharmeen highlights issues of women in society and evil of honor killing.
Sharmeen expressed her happiness in tweet message and hope to win the award.
On the other hand, PM Nawaz congratulated Sharmeen for nominating of her film for Oscar Award. She has previously won Oscar Award for her documentary film “Saving Face” in 2012.
