Sharif family not undergoing accountability but revenge: PML-N Ministers

ISLAMABAD: The leaders of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have on Tuesday again criticized the process of accountability against former prime minister and party president Nawaz Sharif.

Talking to media outside the accountability court (AC), Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the former prime minister is appearing before courts despite reservations.

She said that a wrong impression is being created that Sharif family is running away from courts.

The minister said that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) tried to gather evidences from around the world but no corruption charges were proved against the former Prime Minister.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique while criticizing the said that court judgment said that there was nothing like accountability. “Sharif family is not undergoing accountability but revenge,” he added.

Taking a jibe at former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-Chairman, he said that Asif Ali Zardari is following an unknown agenda.

On the other hand, Federal Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz was of the view that the country’s anti-graft watchdog National Accountability Bureau (NAB) could not find evidence against Sharif family from Britain.

He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, who was declared proclaimed offender by the courts, was not appearing before the courts.

Meanwhile, Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan said that the PPP government did nothing for the welfare of the people and destroyed economy of the country during its tenure.

The PML-N was the only hope of masses having honest working team and clear policy to address the problems of people, he said.
