Senator Babar Awan resigns from Senate, joins PTI

Senator Babar Awan has resigned from the Senate before joining the Imran Khan's PTI.

On Thursday, Imran Khan had announced he would also request Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad to join his party.

Babar Awan served as minister for law and justice during the previous tenure, of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). However, he parted ways with the party, following his differences with Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Awan had recently got close to the PTI chief, becoming one of his counsels in the Panamagate case.

Imran Khan and other senior PTI leaders were invited to an Iftar party being hosted by Awan on Friday.
