Seminar held to pay rich tribute to Allama Iqbal

SUKKUR: A seminar titled `The Pakistan of Iqbal and Quai-i-Azam' held Friday to pay homage to the Poet of East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

In his presidential address at the seminar, organized by Inter Global Human Development Society Noasheen Shakeel said that the national days should be celebrated with a spirit of following the footsteps of our national heroes.

She further said that creation of Pakistan is a proven reality. I am confident that the new generation, having blessed with profound love for the country, will see through the dark phase and sail out our ship through the troubled waters, she remarked.

Renowned scholars and education experts including, Dr Imtiaz Abbasi, Dr Shabana Khaskheli, Badshahzadi Chuhan, Maqsood Imam, Dr Muzaffar Shaikh and others also expressed their views.

Expressing his views, Shabana Khaskheli said that the vision of Iqbal and Quaid needed to be adopted in our daily lives rather than confining it to holding functions, seminars and newspaper editions only.

"We feel their presence wherever their ideology and thoughts are practiced", she said.

She said, "It is the responsibility of the older generation to enlighten the new generation regarding the problems faced in the creation of Pakistan so as to keep their mind out from ambiguities and misconceptions about the past and future of the country".

Maqsood Imam said that Iqbal's personality was a blend of highest human qualities.

Muzaffar Shaikh expressed determination for the brighter Pakistan saying that the new generation was fully equipped with the affections and sentiments needed to safeguard the ideological boundaries of the country.

He said, "Younger generation understands the vision of both Iqbal and Quaid".

Dr Imtiaz Abbasi said that Pakistan was basically carved out to be a Muslim welfare democratic state for a life with peace, stability, tolerance and integration. Only these values can bring progress and prosperity to the country.
