SCBA delegation discusses prosecution and conviction issues with IGP

LAHORE: (APP) A six-member delegation of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Saturday met with Inspector General of Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office here.
Issues related to conviction, improvement of investigation process and mutual cooperation were discussed in the meeting.
The Bar members included President Syed Ali Zafar Shah, Vice President Tabinda Islam, executive members Muhammad Sohail Bhatti, Badar Munir, Abid Saqi and Azam Nazir Tarar whereas Addl IGP Operations/Investigation Punjab Arif Nawaz, AIG Operations Punjab Shahzada Sultan, AIG Finance Hussain Habib Imtiaz, AIG Complaints Syed Khurram Ali, AIG Monitoring Waqas Hassan, AIG Legal Ahsan Younas and other senior officers were also present.
IGP Mushtaq Sukhera appreciated the suggestions of the SCBA regarding evolving new laws for the protection of children while the IGP also ensured them that a meeting would be called very shortly in this regard.
During the meeting, AIG Arif Nawaz briefed the Bar regarding registered cases, arrest of accused and study analysis in connection with the missing children.
