SC orders to conduct re-election in PP-240

ISLAMABAD: while rejecting the plea of PML-N MPA Shamoona Badshah Qaisarani here at today against the verdict of election tribunal, Supreme Court ordered to conduct re-election in PP-240 Dera Ghazi Khan.
As per details, a three member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali held hearing of the case here at today. After hearing arguments of both sides Supreme Court upheld the decision of election tribunal and ordered to conduct election in PP-240 constituency again.
The winning candidate in PP-240 Dera Ghazi Khan Shamoona Badshah Qaisarani was disqualified by election tribunal over concealing her property in nomination papers.
The petition was filed in election tribunal by independent candidate Khawaja Daud for her disqualification under section 76-A while election tribunal declared the seat vacant and ordered ECP to hold by-elections in the constituency.
