Saad vows to make Pakistan Railways profit-oriented department

Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that all-out efforts are being made to make Pakistan Railways a profit- oriented department.
He was addressing a ceremony in connection with the launching of up-gradation work of Raiwind Railway Station.
The minister said that railway track is being upgraded under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor after which trains will operate at the speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
He said online ticketing system has been introduced for 48 trains enabling passengers to book their seats online from anywhere in the country.
The Minister said railways losses have been reduced to twenty-seven billion from thirty-two billion rupees in 2013.
He said new hopper wagons are being run for fast transportation of coal for Sahiwal Coal Power Plant.
