Moscow and Doha have agreed to make joint efforts to resolve the row between Gulf countries and Qatar through peaceful means.
An understanding to this effect came during a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with his Qatar's counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani in Moscow on Saturday.
Sergei Lavrov said Moscow was ready to act with the consent and the interest of the parties concerned to help resolve the diplomatic row through talks.
In his remarks, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman said Qatar was committed to solving the issue through dialogue and termed Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf as the most appropriate format for such talks.
