RSS wants repeat of 1947-like situation in occupied Jammu Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Strongly condemning the display of weapons by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activists in Jammu, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the Muslim community is being harassed and forced to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogan in Indian occupied Kashmir,.

According to Kashmir Media Service, an APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the RSS is preparing the ground for a large-scale destruction on the pattern of 1947-like genocide in Jammu.

The spokesman said that a well-hatched conspiracy was afoot to create a wave of racism and hatred against the Muslim community in Jammu. “But the people of Jammu and Kashmir are united and organised, and such conspiracies will not be allowed to succeed,” he added.

“Nobody can display even licensed weapons in public places, and specifically when situations are sensitive and when there is threat to peace or the intention is to intimidate or harass people on the basis of religion, faith, sect and community”, the spokesman pointed out while referring to the Army Act.However, he said, it is very unfortunate that laws and regulations are applicable only to harass and suppress Muslims, while the RSS enjoys a free hand to display arms, harass other communities and force them to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

The spokesman lashed out at the puppet administration for openly favouring the RSS’ aggressive policy.

Assuring Jammu Muslims of full moral support, the spokesman said that they should not feel lonely and added that nobody would be allowed to repeat a 1947-like saga. In his appeal to the global community, the spokesman urged it to take serious notice of the activities of the fascist forces, which were directly a threat to Muslim and other communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
