Royal Palm Country Club case: Railways Trade Unions protest

LAHORE (APP): Various Railways Trade Unions on Friday staged a protest demonstration against illegal contract of Royal Palm Country Club and demanded its possession back to Pakistan Railways.

Representatives of Railways Trade Unions while demonstrating outside Royal Palm Country Club (RPCC) here said that RPCC was a property of worth billions which they claimed was given at lowest rate to beloved ones during the regime of president General (R) Pervez Musharaf.

Chief Organizer of Rail Mazdoor Ittehad Union, Sarfraz Khan said that during the Musharraf regime, railway colony was forcebly occupied and residents were dislocated.

Central President of the Railways Workers Union, Malik Lateef Ahmed said that the Royal Palm Country Club was a wrong contract, adding the property was of more than Rs 20 billion.

Central President Pakistan Railways Traffic Yard Association Muhammad Munir Chatha while demanding justice said that the RPCC property should be given back to Pakistan Railways.

President Railways Mazdoor Ittehad, Anayat Ali Gujjar appreciated the efforts of Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique regarding Royal Palm Country Club.

A large number of workers of trade unions participated in the protest.
