Ronaldinho coming to Pakistan not alone, but with World Team

KARACHI: Karachi is all set to host one of the country's biggest football event this year, a seven-per-side match between a team of world stars against Pakistan's football team.

Reliable sources have confirmed that Brazilian legend Ronaldinho, who announced Pakistan's tour on Sunday, will be the captain of touring world team.

"They haven't named the team as yet, but it would be like 'rest of world' and the team will line up against a team comprised of Pakistan's national team players," a source privy to the event told Geo.tv.

"There are seven more footballers who will come to Pakistan along with Ronaldinho," the source confirmed.

He, however, refused to name the players, saying all details will be revealed in the next few days and expressed confidence that all will be known top players in international football.

"Those who know football would be happy to see them in Pakistan. There are few former World Cuppers and all of them are players who have played Premier League as well," the source added.

Geo.tv reported on Saturday that Ronaldinho has signed a contract with Leisure League to visit Pakistan, a story which was later confirmed by the Brazilian star himself.

"Pakistan, I am coming," the two-time FIFA player of the year had said in a video message posted on his Twitter account.

Experts believe that the event, if not the biggest, would be one of the biggest events Pakistan sports fans have seen on home soil.
