Rohingya Refugees in Bangladesh rise to 800,000

DHAKA - The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has urged the international community to boost support for Rohingya Muslims fleeing from violence in Myanmar.

Director General of the Organization William Lacy Swing after a visit to Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh warned that thousands will suffer if the international community failed to provide them adequate food, shelter and healthcare in Bangladesh.

About eight hundred thousand Rohingya refugees have taken refuge in Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, in a report released today, UNICEF said that 61 percent of the refugees are children who are suffering from malnutrition.
