Rao Tehsin case seeking inquiry commission report heard in IHC

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High adjourned plea moved by former principal information officer Rao Tehseen Ali seeking a copy of an inquiry report that recommended his removal, for a week.

Justice Aamir Farooq resumed the hearing of the case moved by Rao Tahseen.Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Raja Khalid Mehmood pleaded before the court that the applicant seemed to be in hurry as he approached IHC before framing charge sheet against him.

He argued that in the cases related to sensitive matters inquiry report could not be published and to support to his stance he cited Article-19 of the Constitution and Information Act 2002. The counsel for the petitioner argued that acquiring a copy of the report was due right of his client so he could defend his case in proper channel.

He said that the report had dented Rao’s career and held him responsible for the matter.Subsequently, the court adjourned further hearing of the case for a week.
