Rabi-ul-Awal moon sighting in Pakistan: Met Department report

KARACHI: The Meteorological Department says there is fair chance of sighting the new moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1438 on the evening of November 30, 2016 i.e. on 29th of Safar, 1438.

In a letter written to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Met office said that the new moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1438AH will be born on crossing conjunction point at 17-18 PST on 29-11-2016.
According to astronomical parameters, there is fair chance of sighting the new moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1438 on the evening of November 30, 2016 i.e. on 29th of Safar, 1438.
