Punjab Police recover millions from a fake currency factory in Lahore

LAHORE: 7 men, involved in printing and selling fake currency have been arrested in Lahore by CIA police here at Thursday. CIA Police also recovered machines, equipment, a large amount of chemical and other material used to print fake currency and papers from the possession of accused.

 

As per details, CIA SSP Omer Virk was addressing press conference in Lahore. He said that fake currency included Pakistani rupee, millions of US dollar and Dirham.

 

The Police had been receiving complains of printing fake currencies of Pakistan, UAE, India and other countries for last few months. CIA Police was given a task to find the culprits, involved in printing fake currency by DIG Operation Dr. Haider Ashraf and SSP Investigation Hassan Mushtaq.

 

Several teams of CIA had been formed in this regard. Omer Virk added that CIA police conducted a raid on duty free shop, Data Darbar and arrested Omer Sohail, Shahzad Khan and Ali Raza.

 

The arrested accused revealed that they printed the fake currency here in a house near Mughal Park, Band Road. Police conducted raid on the identification of the arrested accused and detained Anwar, Zekham, Sherbaz Khan and Rashid.

 

CIA police also recovered a huge amount of fake currency.“Immediately it is difficult to estimate the exact amount because it is huge quantity of fake currency,” Virk said.
