PTI Chairman asks provincial cabinet KPK to withdraw Ehtisab Commission law amendments

PESHAWAR: PTI Chairman Imran Khan has directed KPK cabinet to immediately withdraw from Ehtisab Commission law amendments.
As per details, Imran Khan chaired a meeting of PTI members in Banigala here at Monday and reviewed the Ehtisab bill. It was decided in the meeting that Ehtisab bill amendments will be withdrawn by KPK cabinet and the revised bill will be approved by Assembly.
Imran Khan has also formed a committee of his subordinate lawyers who are reviewing the Ehtisab bill. New amendments have been prepared which will be approved by KPK Assembly.
Imran said that he will not compromise in the matter of accountability while he will present soon an effective draft of law regarding independent Ehtisab Commission.
It is also worthy to mention here that KPK government required mandatory five-member commission approval for the arrest of a suspect allegedly involved in corruption brought under the accountability commission amendment ordinance while the term of suspect physical custody had been reduced from 45 days to 15 days. DG Ehtisab Commission Gen. Muhammad Hamid Khan protested against the Ehtisab ordinance and resigned from his post.
