PSL match fixing probe widens to 2 more players

LAHORE: The fixing scandal that erupted while Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 is far from the conclusion. Another two cricketers Umar Amin and Zulfiqar Babar were included in the fixing probe on Tuesday.

Sources told that new names have been included in investigation against spot-fixing in PSL second edition. Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of PCB has summoned both Zulfiqar Babar and Umar Amin for interrogation.

Earlier, the Quetta Gladiator’s left-arm spinner Zulfiqar was named during the league matches but stated clear later. He played all the matches, however, he has now been called to report by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The other cricketer Umar Amin was also a part of the Quetta squad but he didn’t play any of the matches. The left-hand batsman was included in the ongoing fixing probe.

It must be noted here that Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Muhammad Irfan was earlier provisionally suspended by the PCB. The sources have also predicted that more names will be called on with the passage of time.
