PSL Final: Three great cricketers not invited by PCB

Three former Pakistani cricket greats who have enclosures named after them at the Gaddafi Stadium have not been invited to watch the match.

According to reports, Abdul Qadir, Sarfraz Nawaz and Javed Miandad have not received any invitation by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“We are just showpieces, importance is given to international players,” Qadir remarked when asked about not being invited.

Tickets to the final have been selling like hot cakes and at the time this report was filed, only Rs 12,000 tickets remained.

The decision to conduct the PSL 2 final in Lahore was taken during a meeting of the Provincial Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, after Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif consulted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz said foolproof security would be ensured for the mega event.

The Punjab CM directed the cabinet committee to make the best arrangements, and review security and other measures on a daily basis. He also said he would personally monitor the progress regularly.

The final of the PSL will be played on March 5 at the Gaddafi Stadium, which has enclosures named after several legendary Pakistani cricketers.
