PM Nawaz Sharif inaugurates solar power project for parliament building

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the solar power project for the parliament building.

 

As per details, the ceremony of  shifting  Parliament House on Solar Energy was held in Parliament House here at Tuesday. Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Chinese Ambassador Sun Widong and a large number of Parliamentarians attended the inauguration ceremony.

 

Pakistani Parliament has become the first parliament of the world which will use electricity through solar power.

 

While addressing the inauguration ceremony, PM Nawaz expressed his pleasure over the decision of parliament to produce its own electricity for Parliament House.

 

PM Nawaz congratulated Nation on the inauguration of Green Parliament project saying that Parliament has become independent in the production of electricity.

 

Green Parliament project will not only meet the need of electricity of Parliament but the electricity would also be provided to the national grid station. PM added.

 

He further stated that other sectors of Pakistan should also become independent regarding the production of electricity and both public and private sectors should follow this trend.

 

PM Nawaz vowed that 2018 would be the last year of electricity crisis and he is personally monitoring all the power projects.
