Plea to make model town inquiry report public adjourned until 21st

LAHORE: A three-member bench headed by Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh of the Lahore High Court (LHC) adjourned the petition filed to make the Model Town inquiry report public until November 21.

Giving arguments, Model Town tragedy counsel Barrister Ali Zafar said that the report could be made public.

He stated that the court has to look into whether it is right of the affectees to get the report or not. “The court will decide on making the judicial inquiry report part of the trial or not,” he added.

Barrister Ali Zafar stated that the affectees have the right to get the report under the Punjab Right to Information Act.

The judge observed that the court will look into all points raised.

Khawaja Haris, counsel for the Punjab government, has already completed his arguments.

Meanwhile, proofs pertaining to torture of 12 accused and documentary proofs of audio, video and pictures. The accused have been provided the prints of 800 CDs, 90,000 documentaries and 7,500 pictures.
