PIA plane use in an Israeli movie: Spokesman clarifies news

KARACHI: (APP) The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plans to sell its all A-310 aircraft and for the purpose an advertisement has been published in the media, a PIA spokesman said on Wednesday.

With reference to media reports regarding a PIA aircraft being used in a movie, the spokesman, in a statement, said the aircraft had been given on rent to a film production company where it would be used in Air France livery and not as a PIA aircraft.

The PIA, he said, planned to sell all its A-310 aircraft. A museum in Germany had also expressed its interest in buying a plane and to keep it as a symbol of PIA's presence in Europe, among aircraft of several other international airlines, he added.

Final decision about selling the aircraft would be made after bids were opened on December 12, in accordance with relevant rules, he said.

Media and public should rest assured that PIA management is fully cognizant of Pakistan's relations with all the countries and no step would be taken which is not in accordance with government's policy in this regard," the spokesman added.
