PEMRA issues show cause notice to Geo Entertainment and two other TV Channels

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority PEMRA has taken action against the private TV Channels over the violations of the Ramazan transmissions.
Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued show cause notices to three TV channels, including Geo Entertainment, for violating the guidelines regarding Ramazan transmission.
Pemra has served notices on Geo Entertainment, Sindh TV and KTN for not following the directions to carry out transmission in Ramazan. The channels have been directed to submit their reply within three days.
PEMRA accused the channels of broadcasting the quiz programmes before 9 pm in violation of para V of the directions.
