PEMRA issues show cause notice to private TV Channel

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Pakistan Electronic
Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Monday issued show cause notice to Dunya News TV Channel for unprofessional, irresponsible and biased comments in its programme "Khabar Yeh Hai" on October 27.

The PEMRA Notice said that the comments given in the programme were against National Action Plan and the code of conduct of the electronic media implemented on Supreme Court directives.
It is worth a mention that in the said programme biased remarks were given against former minister for Information Broadcasting and National Heritage.
Dunya TV has been given 7 days to respond to the notice. The PEMRA has the right to ban the programme or impose Rs 1 million fine on the said channel.
