PCB forcing cricketer to accept crime for clearance

LAHORE– Test player Khalid Latif’s lawyer has on Thursday accused Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of character assassination while the PCB tribunal hears his case in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing scandal, reported Dunya News.

Khalid Latif is currently suspended due to the PSL spot-fixing scandal. His lawyer Badar Alam said that his client hadn’t fled and that PCB was doing his character assassination. He alleged that anti-corruption unit head Colonel (r) Azam had offered Khalid Latif to admit his crime to get cleared.

Meanwhile, PCB chairman Shahryar Khan has said that there was no pressure on anyone in the spot-fixing scandal probe. When asked if PCB had any evidence of spot-fixing, the chairman refused to comment on the subject.
