Panama leaks matter should be resolved soon: COAS

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today in PM House and discussed the security situation of the country in the meeting.


Sources claimed that Army Chief expressed his concerns over the current political situation of country and said that the matter of Panama leaks should be resolved as soon as possible because it is of paramount national interest.


Army Chief further said that all of us would have to work for the peace and prosperity of the country.


Both dignitaries also exchanged views over the achievements of operation Zarb-e-Azab and agreed to continue Karachi operation till the complete restoration of peace.


PM Nawaz was briefed by Army Chief over the combing operation throughout the country while both also expressed their  satisfaction over the achievements of Karachi operation saying that Rangers have played an important role in the revival of peace.


On the other hand, PM House Spokesperson also confirmed the meeting of Army Chief and PM Nawaz.


Spokesperson said that matters of national interests came under discussion in details in the meeting while both emphasized on the need to further improve the efforts of restoring peace in country.
