Panama Case: Supreme Court cannot give verdict, says Attorney General to SC

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Supreme Court, Wednesday directing all the relevent counsels to complete their rebuttal by tomorrow and adjourned hearing of the Panama Papers case till Thursday (February 23).
Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf Ali completed his deliberations after which the counsel of PTI Naeem Bukhari began with his arguments.Naeem Bukhari was directed to complete his argumets tomorrow before court's break time.
Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Ashtar Ausaf Ali in today's proceeding pleaded that the Hudaibiya Paper Mills reference against Sharif family should not be linked with the Panama Papers as it is different in nature.
Continuing his arguments on NAB's role in Hudaibiya Paper Mills case, he said, anyone could have filed an appeal against the Lahore High Court's decision.
Ausaf said on Panama Papers the disputed material was produced by the PTI petitioner, therefore, the court cannot give a verdict in the case.
A five-member larger bench of the apex court headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Gulzar Ahmad, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan are hearing the case filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and others seeking investigation into Panama Papers.
