Panama Case JIT flexing muscles to summon PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD – The Panama Case Joint Investigation Team probing the Panama Case against the ruling family on the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan is taking its investigations into the advanced stage now.

The joint investigation team has prepared a 14-point questionnaire for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and he could be summoned at any time.

Sources revealed that the PML-N leaders have advised the prime minister not to appear before the JIT and seek exemption.

The PML-N leaders have also expressed their reservations about the JIT members’ behavior towards the prime minister’s sons.

They are of the view that if the prime minister appears before the JIT, his designation will be ridiculed by leaking his picture.

The sources said that the ruling party could submit an application in the Supreme Court through a PML-N leader or a lawyer. Under Article 248 of the Constitution, the prime minister has exemption.

However, no decision has been made to summon Maryam Nawaz.
