Pakistani, Saudi Arabian Special Forces conduct joint exercises

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and Saudi Arabian special forces are holding an anti-terrorism joint exercise at a Saudi military center, the Pakistani military said on Sunday.

In a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani contingent comprising of 68 officers and soldiers of special services group (SSG) is participating in this exercise.

The joint counter-terrorism exercise “Al-Shehab-2” started on November 25 at Prince Naif Security City, Riyadh, and will continue till December 10. “Al-Shehab-1” was held last year in Pakistan, the ISPR said.

The joint exercise will help participating troops from both sides to learn from each other’s experiences in the counter-terrorism field and strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two forces and the countries, the statement said.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are close allies and support each other at international forums. Pakistan also fully supports the Saudi-led Islamic Military Alliance Counter Terrorism Coalition, the ISPR added.
