Pakistani High Commissioner in New Delhi meets Hurriyat Leader and discusses Kashmir issue

NEW DELHI: Hurriyat delegation on Monday met Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in New Delhi, a press release by the Hurriyat Conference informed. In the meeting they discussed the recent Pakistan visit by the Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and her meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the Heart of Asia Conference in Islamabad. The press release further added that the Hurriyat delegation also discussed Kashmir policy. The two-member Hurriyat delegation comprised Geelani's personal secretary Peer Saifullah and chief organiser of the amalgam Altaf Ahmad Shah, Akbar said adding Deputy High Commissioner and the other officials in the Pakistani mission were also present. The delegation passed Hurriyat chairperson Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s message to Pak envoy that Pakistan should continue to maintain consistency and firmness over Kashmir policy and play an active role in highlighting human rights violations committed by Indian forces in J&K on international forums.
