Pakistan - Ukraine joint Defence Production on cards

ISLAMABAD (APP): A delegation of Ministry of Defence Production headed by Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila Lt. General Syed Wajid Hussain is on four-day visit to Kiev, Ukraine to attend arms and Security Expo 2016 on the invitation of Minister for Defence Ukraine Poltorak Stepan.

Pakistan Ukraine Relations: Enhancement prospects 

On arrival, the delegation was received by Maj. Gen. (R) Athar Abbas, the Ambassador of Pakistan in Ukraine, said a press release issued here.

The delegation attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition and visited stalls of exhibitors.

The minister also held meetings with Secretary General National Security and Defence council of Ukraine Oleksandr TURCHYNOV, Dy. Defence Minister of Ukraine Oleg Pavlovsky and Director General UkrObornProm and UKRSPECEXPORT, a state owned organization of Ukraine Roman ROMANOV and discussed ways to explore new avenues to enhance bilateral relations especially in the field of defence production for joint venture with HIT Taxila and KSEW Karachi.

Ukraine offers attractive opportunities for Pakistani Businessmen 

Minister said that there are possibilities to benefit from each other's expertise.

The minister also offered to collaborate in the field of training facilities against terrorism.

The joint venture in tank manufacturing in HIT Taxila and Ships at Karachi Shipyard were also discussed.

The minister extended invitation to Ukrainian companies to participate in IDEAS to be held in Karachi in November this year.

Pakistan to participate in Arms and Security 2016 exhibition in Kiev 

He further said that Pakistan values Ukraine on his support in military cooperation especially in tanks. He also thanked the Ukrainian Minister for Defence for inviting him and his delegation.
